The 2020 decennial census is just around the corner. The once-a-decade population count affects our representation in government, determines how much funding our communities receive, and provides data that drives policies that affect our daily lives. Join us for this unique opportunity to discuss the importance of the census and how it affects our daily lives.

Directions and Parking

The address for the Beus Center for Law is 111 East Taylor Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004. The main entrance to the building is located off 1st Street in between Taylor and Polk.

Parking at the Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix Campus is extraordinarily limited. Cost and location of visitor parking varies daily and is contingent upon event timing, number of attendees and the volume of classes and events taking place on any given day.  You can find parking lots/garages along with the hourly costs below.

Deirdre Dalpiaz Bishop

Chief, Geography Division, U.S. Census Bureau

Deirdre Dalpiaz Bishop is chief of the Geography Division at the U.S. Census Bureau, where she leads a staff of over 200 employees in the development of a national geospatial database. This database of addresses, roads, and boundaries creates the foundation used to support the 2020 Census and ongoing surveys. 

Her keynote will focus on how the Census Bureau has modernized the decennial census taking process in preparation for the 2020 Census, specifically through the use of GIS. Join us to learn more about:

  • Localized partnership and engagement efforts
