Innovative housing solutions through a 3-D digital twin model

Sara Scoville-Weaver, Corporate Sales Manager, Conceptually Social Catering

Background

Problem

Maricopa County has seen a significant population increase and a concurrent rise in housing costs over the past five years, leading to a shortage of affordable housing amidst a boom of market-rate and luxury developments.

Question

Could a digital tool that visualizes accessibility, zoning, and land use improve the identification of land for accessible housing projects in Phoenix?

Methods

A proposed 3-D digital twin of Phoenix could uncover underutilized land and support innovative housing solutions through dynamic mapping and computational technology.

Utilizing technology for land management could streamline the process of locating and developing affordable housing, leading to a diverse housing stock and a more resilient community.

Deliverable

A web-based 3-D mapping tool for Phoenix, offering detailed layers of relevant data to guide affordable housing development and support informed urban policy advocacy.
