Cynthia Zwick, an accomplished executive with more than 33 years experience in nonprofit and association management, has served as Executive Director of Wildfire: Igniting Community Action to End Poverty in Arizona since September 2003. Wildfire is a non-profit organization that works to stop poverty before it starts, by advocating for quality jobs statewide, creating access to a foundation of financial security and ensuring the security and sustainability of supportive systems.
Wildfire promotes access to a foundation of financial security for all Arizonans by lifting up policies that address wealth inequality and working to ensure tools are available to assist with wealth building regardless of race, gender or economic background.
Previously, Ms. Zwick served as Executive Director of the State Bar of Arizona and the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education, leading both professional organizations from 2000 to 2003, insuring high quality service and programming for all members of the State Bar of Arizona, a mandatory membership organization, as well as participating in the improvement of legal and justice system services available to the greater Arizona community.
Ms. Zwick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Ohio Wesleyan University. She is a board member of the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) and a member of the National Energy and Utility Affordability Consortium, the National Community Action Partnership where she serves on the Equity and Economic Mobility Commission, the Arizona Town Hall where she served on the Board of Directors, Valley Leadership Class XXV, the Arizona Society of Association Executives, and the Protecting Arizona’s Family Coalition, for which she had also served as a board member.
