Bio

Kylie Wilson, Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Arizona State University focusing on community resilience through opportunities for healthy, active living. Her broad research interest is in physical activity promotion among underserved populations, who often face disproportionate negative health outcomes. Kylie’s prior research has primarily focused on physical activity among children and adolescents within a school-based setting (before, during, after school), typically in underserved urban settings, as well as leveraging schools as a central location for community physical activity and cohesion.

Her research takes a multilevel approach using community-based interventions targeting individual, physical, and sociocultural factors that influence movement behaviors. In addition to these broad factors, Kylie has particular interests in:

  • Comprehensive school physical activity policies & practices

  • Warm and increasingly warm climates

  • Social cohesion & school connectedness
