Community of Practice
Institutionalizing our approach and accelerating our impact
We rely on a community of practice, drawn from our close collaborators from ASU and the wider community. From the initial design of our activities to scaling up our impact, these scholars have helped make KER what it is.
Resilience Fellow Alumni, 2018–2024
During the life of the Fellows program, each year a new cohort of passionate individuals from the university and community apply and are brought together to develop knowledge to strengthen community resilience. Fellows focus on four main resilience themes (FUSE) and collaborate closely with community stakeholders.
Enterprise and impact scholars, 2022–2024
Building on the work of our crosscutting design scholars, our enterprise scholars are institutionalizing KER as a design characteristic of the New American University. As they do the slow work of institutional transformation, our impact scholars are helping us respond quickly to the urgent threat of extreme heat in Arizona.
Crosscutting design scholars, 2018–2021
This small group of faculty and researchers filled in special knowledge gaps to support the evidence-based design of KER as a transformative initiative. They each undertook a specific design question around building community resilience. Together, they developed the Knowledge Exchange Playbook for Resilience, to document KER designs and tools in a publicly available resource.
